It was my first big city and I fell for it, pretty hard.  In the end though, I felt that it was truely an unfair and unsafe place to live. A real dark power did live and thrive there. Seemed you really needed big blinders on daily to not let what was right under your nose bother you.  Many people there had them. I did not.
